Any time you book a Wild Terrains trip, you gain access to our traveler community filled with helpful information before and during your travels, including a suggested packing list for your trip.
All of the Scotland hikes are gentle - designed to make it easy for anyone to get out and enjoy the stunning Highland landscape - so no specialized equipment is needed, although we do recommend a comfortable pair of boots and a waterproof jacket.
Wild Terrains trips are generally planned during the shoulder seasons of spring and fall, when almost globally, weather can be counted upon to be fairer than the extremes of summer and winter. That said, Scotland’s weather is famously unpredictable, so packing smart is key! No matter the season, you should be ready for sunshine, rain, wind, and crisp temperatures—sometimes all in the same day. It’s not unusual to start your morning in a drizzle, enjoy bright blue skies by lunch, and end the evening wrapped in mist or gusty winds. Layers and boots are your best friend, and a waterproof jacket is a must. Come prepared for anything the Highlands might throw your way! 😉
