The easiest way to access cash is to withdraw Argentine pesos (ARS) out of an ATM in the airport once you arrive in Buenos Aires. This will give you local bills converted at the official exchange rate. If you use a currency exchange booth at the airport, you'll receive a less favorable rate.
💰 Savvy travel tip: Bring down US dollars in cash and securely exchange them to pesos for a more competitive rate, thanks to the parallel market known as the "Blue dollar." This practice is extremely common among tourists and locals alike, and ensures your money goes much further than by putting purchases on your US credit card.
If you choose to go this route, plan to bring new $100 bills; smaller bills aren't typically accepted. Entre Cielos (our hotel in Mendoza) can provide guidance on how to do this; conversely, you can exchange dollars directly with HOME hotel when we arrive in Buenos Aires.
