For all of our trips, If you are someone who struggles with jet lag, we do recommend trying to arrive a day early to adjust to the time change. We can book you in the same hotel we are staying in with the group if you decide to come early - please request this through your destination on our Concierge page.
After booking, you will have access to the following information and more inside the traveler community under 'Arrivals + Departures'. Make sure you sign up for the community platform after receiving a custom link to join in your booking confirmation email.
Arrival
ARRIVAL AIRPORT : Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS)
ARRIVAL SCHEDULE
On your trip’s start date, you should plan to arrive at The Lisboans Hotel (Address: Tv. do Almada 9, 1100-018 Lisboa, Portugal) between 8AM - 1PM.
TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT
You will be meeting us at The Lisboans Hotel (Address: Tv. do Almada 9, 1100-018 Lisboa, Portugal) on your trip start date. UBER works really well in Portugal and is very safe. You will have free wifi at the airport to request an UBER to the hotel. It will take around 30 minutes and cost around ~$10-20 USD. We can also arrange a private car to pick you up if you prefer that as well - please request this through our Portugal Concierge page.
Departure
DEPARTURE AIRPORT - Porto Airport (OPO) or Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS)
DEPARTURE SCHEDULE
The morning of the last day of your trip we will wake up in Porto, Portugal and this is where our trip ends. You can fly out of Porto anytime that day (which has direct flights to New York and many other major cities) instead of going back to Lisbon.
Note: If you would like to fly out of Lisbon, you can take the train back to Lisbon on the morning of the last day of the trip or we can book you a private airport transfer to take you by car.
Trains
Trains are super easy in Portugal! The train from Porto to Lisbon runs almost every hour. The trip takes around 3 hours, and costs between €10-30. The departing station will be Porto - Campanha and the arriving station will be Lisboa - Oriente. You can only book the train 2 months out, so you will have to wait until 2 months before your travel date to book your train tickets
If you take an 8:30am train, you would arrive in Lisbon by noon. Give yourself 30 minutes to taxi to the airport. You would be able to easily make a flight at 3pm or later.
